Max, wearing a bathrobe, soaks her feet while looking at a magazine. Synclaire looks at herself in a mirror, then asks Regine why she is doing a particular beauty treatment. Regine, who has cream over her upper lip, explains that it is to stop laugh lines and crow’s feet. Synclaire asks Regine why she isn’t doing it. She replies that she doesn’t need it. Khadijah enters with a man, and her friends hide their faces and shout at her. Khadijah pushes Joe out the door, explaining that she had a good time and wants to invite him in, but there is “major reconstruction” going on. After she closes the door, she asks what is going on. Regine declares that they are having a beauty night. “It ain’t working,” Khadijah retorts. The doorbell rings. Khadijah shouts that she’ll be right there as she slightly changes her outfit and tries to think of the guy’s name, which sounds like a sandwich. Synclaire helpfully suggests “filet-o-fish.” Khadijah answers the door and greets Reuben. She leaves. Regine angrily comments that it used to be them who couldn’t keep their dates straight, but now they are manless. Synclaire reminds Regine that she and Max have men. Max pumices her feet and adds that she has someone who can look at her corns and still smile. Regine claims that she hasn’t gone that long without a date, but is soon horrified to realize it has been over two months. She says it hasn’t been so bad since the drought of ’89, when she was visiting friends in Alabama and didn’t want to date anyone named Baby Brother, Butter or Boo-Key...

Episode Quotes
Regine: For your information, we are having a beauty night.
Khadijah: It ain't working.

Khadijah: What's this guy's name? It sounds like a sandwich.
Synclaire: Filet-o-fish?

Regine: Now look at us: manless.
Synclaire: Excuse you. We have men.
Max: That's right. I got somebody that can look at these corns and still smile.

Regine: Things haven't been this bad since the drought of '89. And that was only because I was visiting friends in Alabama and refused to go out with anyone named Baby Brother, Butter or Boo-Key.

Scooter: (giving wig to Regine) 100 percent human hair from the Phillipines.
Regine: Oh, y'all. She used conditioner!

Scooter: Khadijah, I was wondering, could we go some place and talk?
Khadijah: We could go up on the roof.
Scooter: It's kind of cold up there, isn't it?
Khadijah: Well, I've got a feeling any place we talk is gonna be a little chilly.

Max: (to Khadijah) How can you just trust him like this? What happened to all of that lovely hatred you were developing for him?

Regine: (to Khadijah) The ring turned you, didn't it? Two carats can be very persuasive. Shoot, three carats and I'd marry dang near anybody!

Synclaire: Oh my God! You're pregnant. Okay. It's okay. And nobody needs to know but just us, okay? Woo-woo-woo. Woo-woo-woo.
Khadijah: Bless you, Synclaire. Now the townspeople won't stone me.

Max: I'll be there. I'll be hugging a champagne bottle, but I'll be there.

Hyman: It's nice to see young people having relationships and getting married. It's good for business. In the '70s, all those one-night stands. People shacking up. Nobody bought a wedding ring! All I sold was the occasional medallion.

Max: (to Scooter) You are one smooth talker, huh? I didn't think you'd come back engaged. In fact, I didn't think one of you'd come back at all.
