Lost in Space: Space Beauty

Farnum B, galactic showman, has a new client. He's looking for women to enter a beauty contest. At first, afraid of his client, he refuses to enroll Judy. But the client sees her and wants her in the contest - and he has a way of ensuring that Farnum does as asked. But when Farnum cannot sign her, and forgery does not work, he turns to Doctor Smith, whose subtle chicanery soon has Judy on the runway. But when Judy sees just what's inside the mysterious sponsor's armor, her desire to win the contest evaporates...

Episode Quotes
(A pair of invisible aliens examine Doctor Smith.)
Alien #1: That one?
Alien #2: No... not that one.
(The aliens move on to Will's room.)
Alien #1: That one?
Alien #2: No... not that one.
Penny: (from another room) Don? Is that you? What happened to the lights?
Judy: (emerging from her room) I thought I heard voices, but it's so dark. Oh, well. Don will get the lights fixed in the morning. Go back to sleep.
(Judy and Penny return to their room.)
Alien #1: Is that one a possibility?
Alien #2: Yes... that one is a definite possibility!

Doctor Smith: I knew it! The sky is falling!!

Farnum: At last your old friend Farnum B has struck it rich... hit the big time... landed in the main tent, in the center spotlight!

Farnum: The secret of being a great showman – like me – is in having a backer who has scads and scads of money.
Doctor Smith: Oh, I quite agree.

Farnum: The deal is off! I'll break the contract!
Nancy: You, uh, can't break the contract.
Farnum: And why not?
Nancy: Well, to get you all the money I... well, I had to give him some little concession.
Farnum: What little concession???
Nancy: Well, I... I... I sold him your soul.

Farnum: (influenced by the evil power of the dictator) Mine not to question why... mine but to cheat and lie!

(Will watches Doctor Smith sign a beauty contest contract.)
Will: Judy Robinson?!? Doctor Smith, that's FORGERY!
Doctor Smith: Nonsense, William. I have her involuntary power of attorney, do I not?

The Dictator: Ten thousand years we have lived without beauty on our galaxy. Ten thousand years we have searched for such cool, cool beauty as yours. Come with me! You will be our beauty queen forever!!

Will: Well, there goes Mr. Farnum.
Doctor Smith: Good riddance to that pompous popinjay! It's devoutly to be wished that we never see him again!

Certain symbols, such as Farnum's goat-headed coin dispensers, as well as The Dictator's ability to trade in souls and his nature, strongly imply that he is inspired by Satan - or perhaps that legends of Satan were inspired by some long ago visit he made to Earth.
