I seem to recall that Maverick had a cool theme song. Anyone have the lyrics?
Here they are:

Who is the tall dark stranger there?
Maverick is the name.
Ridin' the trail to who knows where,
Luck is his companion
Gamblin' is his game.

Smooth as a handle on a gun
Maverick is the name
Wild as the wind in Oregon
Blowing up a canyon
Easier to tame.

Riverboat ring your bell,
Fair-thee-well, Annabelle.
Luck is the lady that he loves the best.
Natchez to New Orleans
Livin' on jacks and queens
Maverick is the legend of the West.

Repeat chorus.
Which episodes got the higher ratings--James Garner's or Jack Kelly's?
Although Garner is widely considered the star and Kelly as the supporting player it was actually Kelly's episodes that drew higher ratings in the show's first two seasons. The main reason--Maverick drew more female viewers when Kelly appeared. During the third season, the Garner episodes were rated higher than the Kelly ones.
