In Project Office X-1000, McCauley and Colonel Jim Benson listen to a report on the ship's boosters. However, the fuel consumption cost requires a minimum crew and will only provide a 60% potential. Jim warns McCauley that he and his son Ron will need to make several orbital test flights before they're ready to head for Venus.
