My Favorite Martian

My Favorite Martian

A one-man space craft crash lands in Los Angeles which contains an extraterrestrial anthropologist from Mars. Tim O'Hara is a young newspaper reporter who is on his way home from Andrews Air Force base where he was to do a story on the X-15 rocket. Having witnessed the crash, Tim takes in Martin (as he calls him) and passes him off as his uncle Martin while he repairs his spacecraft. Martin can read and manipulate minds plus levitate items, so Tim does his best to keep him under cover. He also will build advanced machines on the premises such as time machines. Their landlady is Mrs. Lorelei Brown, who is a bit scatter-brained and she has a jealous boyfriend who is also a police officer who takes an instant dislike towards Martin, and would love nothing more than to catch him doing something wrong.

Great family values and morality tale. Uncle Martin was the friendly and wise alien you wanted to have and nephew Tim had just the right amount of comedic innocence. A solid comedy without being outstanding. Stands up well today as its DVD release attests. Read more
