The Nine Network began broadcasting in Australia in 1963 and was formerly known as the National Television Network.

The channel is the most popular in Australia and screens a mixture of home grown and imported shows. American shows on the network include ER, Close To Home, Without a Trace and The Young And The Restless. Home grown series include McLeod's Daughters, Torvill and Dean's Dancing on Ice, Bert's Family Feud and The Footy Show.
