MTV3 is the second biggest television channel in Finland, and also one of Europe's oldest commercial channels, as it was founded back in 1957.
During the channels early years it went by the name MTV, and only rented airtime from the two YLE channels.
In 1993 MTV started using its current name, MTV3, and also acquired its own channel. MTV3 had the biggest audience share of all the Finnish channels for many years only to be passed by YLE1 in 2008. |
