Musician Tyler Hilton just serenaded his way onto CBS’ summer series from Steven Spielberg. First reported by The Hollywood Reporter, the singer/actor is joining ‘Extant’ in a recurring role.
Hilton will play Charlie, the chief coder on the Humanichs Project, the center of the story. His character is described as “a digital rock star in the Humanichs Lab but belligerently analog at home. Because he's valued so much at work, he's more at ease there, while outside of the lab he can be a bit more socially awkward.”

Do you hear that? Oh, that’s just fans of ‘One Tree Hill,’ and those of us who adored (me!) Hilton on The CW show as musician and jerk Chris Keller, fangirling out. In addition to ‘OTH,’ Hilton’s also popped up on ‘Single Ladies’ and appeared on ‘American Dreams’ as a folk singer.
‘Extant,’ featuring leading lady and Oscar winner Halle Berry, revolves around Molly (Berry) who tries reconnecting with her family and the world after a spending one year in space. However, that just might be easier said than done, especially now that she’s pregnant -- with an extraterrestrial.
