FOX Grants 'Gotham' a Full Series Order & Releases First Official Trailer

Fronted by 'Southland' star and former 'O.C.' vet Ben McKenzie (as a young police detective James Gordon), 'Gotham' is described as “an origin story of the great DC Comics super-villains and vigilantes, revealing an entirely new chapter that has never been told.”

And indeed it shall. Aside from the future police commissioner, the series will look to introduce a bevy of recognizable faces well before they ever had any encounter with the soon-to-be legendary Dark Knight.

Cast members include Donal Logue ('Sons of Anarchy') as Detective Harvey Bullock, Jada Pinkett Smith as crime boss Fish Mooney, David Mazouz ('Touch') as a young, pre-vigilante Bruce Wayne, Sean Pertwee as the faithful Wayne family servant Alfred Pennyworth, Robin Lord Taylor as Oswald Cobblepot (aka The Penguin), Camren Bicondova as Selina Kyle (aka Catwoman), Erin Richards as Gordon’s fiancée Barbara Kean, Zabryna Guevara as Gotham PD Captain Essen, and Cory Michael Smith who will guest-star as Edward Nygma (aka The Riddler).

Along with this exciting news, FOX has also unleashed the show's first official extended trailer, which premiered during tonight's debut of '24: Live Another Day.' (Why hello, Poison Ivy!) Feast your eyes on the glory of 'Gotham':

I'll skip it. A serialized show on FOX has no chance. It will be shown out of order. It will be cancelled prematurely. They will muck with the plot and kill character development. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me a dozen times, shame on me. Never again, FOX. If it makes it to season 5, I'll get the DVDs from the library.

Don't forget the FOX jumbled viewing order that usually ends up something like this : Episodes 1, 4, 9, 2, 8, 6, 3, 5, 7 10, 11, 12

Then get confused when people stop watching.

"They order a full series and then they cancel the show after one season." Not true! They will show 3 episodes then cancel it. 8 months later the other un-aired episodes will leak to the internet. It's a tried and tested formula to piss people off.

Too bad it's on Fox, it could have been a good one. A new show on Fox is like being born with a terminal disease. Kelly may as well have written 'Cancelled after season one' in the topic title.

I'll wait till I hear if it's coming back for season two, then watch season one.
