UPDATED: Now CBS and producers at 20th Century Fox Television both say a series order has not yet been made. TVRage will keep you updated as news progresses.
Get ready for some legen — WAIT FOR IT — dary news, folks!
In news that will probably not surprise most of you, CBS has opted to give a series order to 'How I Met Your Mother's highly anticipated spin-off, 'How I Met Your Dad,' which means there will be plenty more therapy-inducing couch sessions in the foreseeable future.

This is major news (Major News *salutes*) since the network just said goodbye to the series' predecessor just last month, leaving fans with rather mixed feelings (but that's a story for another day). And while some may find the whole concept to be somewhat overdone — which, fair enough — it's still likely to draw a pretty decent crowd, at least to start.
The pilot-to-series order marks what's sure to be just the beginning of CBS’ wave of pickups. The project is being described as a “kindred spirit” of 'HIMYM' — only this time telling the story of a relationship from the female point of view. Greta Gerwig stars as Sally (this show's "Ted" character), who is thinking of calling it quits with her husband of only a year, Gavin (played by 'Workaholics' Anders Holm).
Meg Ryan will provide the voice of Future Sally.
