FOX’s ‘Gotham’ Promotes The Riddler & 2 Detectives to Series Regulars

The Batman prequel has yet to air, but that isn’t stopping the FOX drama from promoting certain talents to series regulars.

FOX’s ‘Gotham’ Promotes The Riddler & 2 Detectives to Series RegularsCory Michael Smith, Victoria Cartagena and Andrew Stewart Jones, who all guest star in the pilot, are now series regulars. Smith, known for his work in ‘Olive Kitteridge,’ plays Edward Nygma aka the eventual Riddler. As for Cartagena, she portrays Renee Montoya, a detective in the major crimes unit of the Gotham Police Department. Jones also plays a detective at Gotham PD named Crispus Allen.

This trio joins quite the cast, including David Mazouz (young Bruce Wayne), Robin Lord Taylor (The Penguin), Camren Bicondova (Catwoman), Donal Logue (Detective Harvey Bullock), Jada Pinkett Smith (the villainous Fish Mooney), Sean Pertwee (Alfred Pennyworth) and, of course, leading man Ben McKenzie as James Gordon, the future commissioner of Gotham.

From ‘The Mentalist’s Bruno Heller, this is quite the anticipated fall series. Not only did FOX grant the prequel a full series orders of at least 13 episodes, but it also released an extended trailer that’s full of greatness.

This morning, FOX also announced its 2014 fall schedule, which included ‘Gotham.’ It’s set to air Mondays (bumping ‘Bones’ to Thursdays) at 8 p.m. before the network’s other highly-rated series ‘Sleepy Hollow.’

"From ‘The Mentalist’s Bruno Heller" I wouldn't use that as a selling point. Mentalist had a not bad first season, for being a Psych rip off, but rapidly devolved away from the trickery which gave the series it's title. It culminated with the worst piece of crap Red John storyline possibly in the history of tv. That history would include the absolute crap finale season and finale of Lost.
