It looks like Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All will get to continue their rowdy takeover of pop culture. It's been announced that the rap collective's sketch comedy series Loiter Squad has been renewed for a second season by Adult Swim.
The series, which sees Odd Futurites Tyler the Creator, Jasper Dolphin, Taco Bennett, and Lionel Boyce playing pranks on each other (and other people), Jackass-style (Jackass alumni Johnny Knoxville and Bam Margera did make appearances in the show's first season, and the show is produced by Jackass's Dickhouse Productions). These pranks are punctuated with strangely humorous sketches, such as the baffling music video for the song "I Like Cheese."
The show, which runs for fifteen minutes per episode, airs on the Adult Swim block of Cartoon Network. "Your 15 minutes are up... every Sunday night at 11:30," a fan posted on Tyler, the Creator's Formspring.
"Damn, this made me smile," Tyler replied.
Odd Future is a Los Angeles-based rap group who have garnered controversy for perceived offensiveness in their lyrics. The group recently released the compilation album The Odd Future Tape Volume 2. Speaking to BBC Newsroom last week, Tyler the Creator dismissed any complaints toward the group's lyrical content. ""My lyrics aren't offensive. Some people find everything offensive," he said. "[What I'm trying to say in my lyrics is] Nothing. S**t to piss old white people off like you."
Loiter Squad's first season of eight episodes recently wrapped up. No premiere date has been set for the show's second season. We'll keep you posted as any more Loiter Squad updates roll out.
