John Legend Insults New X Factor Judges

john legendIt has been known that Britney Spears and Demi Lovato are joining Simon Cowell and Antonio "L.A" Reid on the judging panel for the next season of X Factor USA. However, now that Duets, another singing competition show is coming up against it, there are insults flying left and right. One in particular is that of John Legend. The singer/songwriter said "It's interesting when people, you know, are judging singing competitions when they aren't really singers," This comes as a shock to Britney fans and Lovato fans as well. The fact that Legend has insulted them is questionable as to whether or not this was intentional to boost any ratings for 'Duets' coming on the 24th of May on ABC.

However, this has had the opposite effect. There have been singers who have made rude comments before. Recently "The Wanted" made bad comments about Christina Aguilera, another Disney Star, and has recently apologized for their rude comment to the Pop Diva. This goes to show that celebrities, whether famous or not, are going to say what they want and eventually will pay the price. It is going to be interesting to see what this is going to do to the show. Rather then helping the show, Legend could have just tainted the show and forced people to ignore it.

What do you think? Should John Legend apologize to Britney Spears and Demi Lovato? Should he be apologizing to Simon Cowell as well for choosing the judges?

Nothing like a healthy competition. Especially when American Idol and X Factor did not draw the audiences they were expected to. And he does have a point.

I think he was dead on with regards to Britney Spears! Let's face it, she CANNOT sing (without the help of autotune), so how can she judge a singing competition??? I think many in the music industry are thinking it, but he's just the one that had the balls to come out and say it.

I think it's rude to say these things out loud and we should go back to what our mother's have taught us ( many years ago) If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all. Having said that..... I agree somewhat with him... they're pop singers..period.  I think the judges are wrong for the simple point of lack of experience... Really Demi Lovato?  Get someone with some years on them and who have had to pay some dues along the way. I understand the Spears angle, that's simply for the popularity vote. Unfortunatley the general audience may not care about getting a judge on the panel who may be a music producer or someone of that capacity because those aren't names that get batted around as much as Jlo, Lilo,Cee lo,Brittney or Howard Stern.
