There is a lot of exciting news coming out of Comic-Con this weekend! ‘American Horror Story’ had a late-night panel on Saturday where more than a few hints were offered about the upcoming fourth season of the FX anthology, aptly named ‘Freak Show.’
While I do like a good horror show, I had a hard time getting in to the last season of ‘American Horror Story.’ There was not much about the ‘Coven’ storyline that really scared or excited me. However, throw in a creepy circus and some clowns and set it in the 1950’s and I think we can expect a lot of hair-raising moments from ‘Freak Show.’ The big news from last night’s panel was revealed by executive producer Tim Minear, who revealed that John Carroll Lynch (‘Fargo,’ ‘Body of Proof’) would be joining ‘Freak Show’ as a big-bad character that will “scare the shit out of you.” Minear went on to say that fans can expect something a bit different from the upcoming season, as it is “not like the first three seasons.”
‘Freak Show’ will welcome back more than a few familiar faces, including Kathy Bates, Jessica Lange, Frances Conroy, Angela Bassett, Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters. Much of the cast revealed their character names for ‘Freak Show,’ which are exactly the kind of names you might expect from a show set in the 1950’s. Sarah Paulson will play Siamese twins Bette and Dot Tattler, Emma Roberts is Maggie, Angela Bassett is Desiere Duprée, Kathy Bates is Effil Darling, Evan Peters is Jimmy Darling, Jessica Langeis is Elsa Mars, and Michael Chiklis is Wendell Del Toredo.
If only we didn’t have to wait until October to see this spectacular cast in action again!
