James Corden for 'Late, Late Show'?

James Corden

British Comedian James Corden, is rumored to be replacing Craig Ferguson when he ends his time presenting 'The Late, Late Show'. After David Letterman had confirmed earlier this year he will be leaving the 'Late Night' desk, Craig followed suit, revealing that his show will end December 2014. The British comedian, has experience in the UK hosting comedy panel shows such as 'A League Of Their Own', but has never presented a chat show. James became famous in the UK, for his work creating, starring and writing the BBC sitcom 'Gavin & Stacey' alongside Ruth Jones.

CBS or James Corden are yet to comment on the rumors.

I have lived in the States for some twenty years and I have only become familiar with James Corden over the past three years through Hulu and now iPlayer. As far as I can tell, the guy is incredibly talented and turns in a polished performance whether comic or serious and obviously works hard at his craft. He may not be everyone's cup of tea, but to say he is a talentless man is short-sighted. It would appear from his most recent starring "vehicles" that celebrities are drawn to work with him. I agree with StuBnew that Corden would be a great replacement for Craig Ferguson as he seems to be a sincere, warm and very engaging guy. My only reservation about him is his tendency to resort to excessive crudity which at times kills the very groundwork he lays for himself as comedian and entertainer (IMHO). If he could somewhat temper these tendencies and decide who and what he is, he could be a very big household name in the US. Bet of luck to him.
