'NYPD Blue' and 'Twin Peaks' stars join 'Agents of Shield' Season 2

It has been announced that star of 'Twin Peaks' and 'Desperate Housewives', Kyle MacLachlan will be joining the second season of 'Marvel Agents of Shield'. He will play the role of Skye's father in the superhero drama. Although further details about the character are been kept under wraps, as Skye's parentage was a major plot point throughout the first season.

In other casting news, Henry Simmons, famous for appearing in 'NYPD Blue', has also joined the show in a recurring capacity, as SHIELD's resident mechanic, Alphonso 'Mac' Mackenzie.

The shows second season will begin on the 23rd of September on ABC.
