Kim Cattrall, Morgan Freeman to present episodes of 'My Shakespeare'

Kim Cattrall My Shakespeare

Sky Arts 1 is set to air a new series of programmes entitled 'My Shakespeare' in conjunction with the Open University. In each episode a famous actor or actress who has appeared in a Shakespeare production will trace the history of the play and look at how it may of been staged in Shakespearean times. Each episode will also feature interviews with stars from both sides of the pond, with Orlando Bloom, Ralph Fiennes, Sheridan Smith, David Walliams and Tracey Ullman all set to appear.

The series is comprised of six episodes and will transmit every Monday night at 9pm on Sky Arts 1 from September 22nd.

September 22nd - Morgan Freeman on the Taming of the Shrew

September 29th - Kim Cattrall on Antony & Cleopatra

October 6th - Joseph Fiennes on Romeo & Juliet

October 13th - Hugh Bonneville on A Midsummer Night's Dream

October 20th - David Harewood on Othello

October 27th - Christopher Plummer on King Lear

Phil Edgar-Jones, director of Sky Arts said the following of the new show;

"It’s easy to see why the acclaimed stars in this series have such a passion for William Shakespeare. It’s such an honour to be able to bring his work to life on Sky Arts especially for our customers, who, like audiences in theatres around the world, crave insight into the plays created by a total genius."
