Martin Scorsese to Direct HBO 'Shutter Island' Pilot

Martin Scorsese

HBO has its eye on a new television series that will be based on the 2010 Leonardo DiCaprio film ‘Shutter Island,’ and legendary filmmaker Martin Scorsese has signed on to direct the pilot. If this isn’t a sign that we can expect great things from this show, I don’t know what is.

The show, titled ‘Ashecliffe,’ would be a prequel to the events that took place in ‘Shutter Island.’ ‘Ashecliffe’ would document the shady past of the hospital and the people who run it. Scorsese directed the film, and should the pilot be ordered, will be given the reigns for that as well. ‘Shutter Island’ author Dennis Lehane will be writing the script along with Tom Bernardo.

The film was as formulaic and predictable as anything I`ve ever seen - but a series might be very nice !
