The Middle East drama ‘Stanistan’ has found its leading lady in ‘Dexter’ alum Jennifer Carpenter. After being picked up to pilot in May, ‘Stanistan’ has begun to round out its cast, and Carpenter has signed on to play the pinnacle role of Marcie Post.
Carpenter’s character is being described as a highly organized and alert public affairs officer working at the U.S. Embassy in the Middle Eastern country of Stanistan. Marcie has the often tough job of being the press officer for the State Department, where she is in charge of putting a positive spin on some of the most deadly news to come out of the war-torn region.
This will be Carpenter’s first role since starring in the failed ABC pilot ‘Sea of Fire’ in May following her worldwide fame for her role as Deb on ‘Dexter.’
