The upcoming HBO romantic drama ‘Elisabeth’ has just landed an Oscar nominated and two-time Emmy winning actress. Patricia Clarkson (‘Six Feet Under’) will be reuniting with HBO for the project, should it continue to move forward, where she will be the starring actress.
‘Elisabeth’ is being called a romantic drama set in the political world. Ruba Nadda, who wrote and directed ‘Cairo Time’ in which Clarkson starred, will be writing the script and directing the pilot. Both Nadda and Clarkson will be executive producing with help from Alan Poul (‘Six Feet Under’). Should HBO pick up the series it would be joining an impressive list of shows such as ‘Game of Thrones,’ ‘True Detective’ and ‘The Leftover.’ With hit series like ‘Boardwalk Empire’ and ‘True Blood’ making their exit from the cable station this season, HBO will be in need of some fresh, exciting dramas.
