Just when you thought the casting news for American Horror Story was over, it turns out that one more name is circling a role on the new season. Joseph Fiennes, brother of Ralph and star of such films as Shakespeare In Love and Enemy At The Gates, is in heavy talks to join the cast. The name of his potential character hasn't been revealed, but we do know that he is the head of the insane asylum where Jessica Lange's new character works. Also, the pair have a bit of a May/December romance going on as well, and why not? Lange doesn't look that bad for her advancing age.
The character is also described as emotionally "tortured", which seems like kind of a no-brainer. What major character on the first season wasn't an emotional wreck in some way? I can't think of any. Maybe the Harmon's ghost baby, but probably not, seeing as it did die and all.
Fiennes is the latest potential addition to an already loaded cast for the second year of AHS. Not only will Lange, Zachary Quinto, Lily Rabe, Sarah Paulson, and Evan Peters all be returning as regulars, but Oscar nominees James Cromwell and Chloe Sevigny, and Maroon 5 singer Adam Levine will also be joining the blood-soaked festivities. The second season of American Horror Story premieres around Halloween 2012. Let's just hope this goes better for Fiennes than the one season and done sci-fi series FlashForward.
Do you think Fiennes would be a good addition to the AHS cast?
