ABC confirmed today that Ellen Barkin and Bobby Cannavale will guest star on “Modern Family” in early 2012. This comes days after announcing that Robin Givens will also join Wednesday night’s “Suburgatory.”
Barkin will play Vera, Phil Dunphy’s new nemesis. Phil made a big change earlier this year when the realtor moved firms, now Vera is on the scene, a veteran broker out to get every client she can! In the past, Phil’s reached to some creative marketing to help raise sales, maybe we’ll see his creative side again (with a few laughs for us). Instead of accidentally ordering a perverted van skin for his reality company, maybe Phil can create some insanely funny commercials to boost sales.
Cannavale on the other hand will appear in one of themore promising future storylines. He will play Cam’s alter-ego, Fizbo’s, clown partner. It’s always a great laugh when Fizbo is on the scene, just imagine what two can do! Last time we saw Fizbo he was competing with a princess for entertainment at Lily’s birthday party, what will he do when he’s not the only clown in the spotlight?
These two acting veterans join the growing list of Modern Family guest stars including Greg Kinnear, Benjamin Bratt, Shelley Long and Fred Willard. Though Cannavale and Barkin are scheduled for one show each in early 2012, it’s rumored that Barkin may be a recurring character.
Speaking of recurring characters, is it time for Dylan to return yet? His oblivious and determined attitude is missed!
