Tim Roth Signs On to Play A Surgeon in "Knifeman" Series

tim rothWhen you thought that Tim Roth could only tell you when you were lying, feeling angry or feeling other emotions, then think again. The 'Lie to Me' star has moved on to other areas. This time he plays a surgeon in the David Cronenberg series 'Knifeman'. Roth will be playing the character, John Tattersall. To uncover the mysteries of the human body John (Roth) willl go to great lengths to make sure that all his calculations are correct. Based on the hit book series by Wendy Moore called 'The Knife Man', Cronenberg will surely make this one to watch as he does with his others. The main focus of the series is to follow John as he discovers through examination that there is more to us then flesh and blood. With "Friday Night Lights" writer/producer Rolin Jones writing the series, there are sure to be a lot of drama to look forward to in the series.

Sam Raimi, Josh Donen and Robert Zotnowski. Renee Tab of Sentient Entertainment are co-executive producing and with a back-up crew like they have, the series is sure to succeed. It is always good to see actors branching out and for Tim Roth, he has succeeded with the many roles that he has played in his career. Putting on the surgeon mask is going to be new waters for him, but based on his past, it is not going to be that hard to fall in love with his character. What do you think of a 'Knifeman' series? Do you think that Tim Roth will do a great job in the role?

I love Tim Roth and really loved LTM. I do hope his annuciation has gotten a bit better though, his accent was pretty strong in his last series and I found myself having to rewind many times to catch what he said. :)

I've been following the Knifeman project since it was first announced, and this is absolutely perfect casting. Roth deserves much more respect as an actor than he sometimes gets.
