New Cast Additions For Season Five Of Breaking Bad, Plus The First Trailer
Spoiler Warning: If you haven't watched the last season of AMC drama Breaking Bad, you may want to avoid clicking on this article.
Breaking Bad is charging full steam into its fifth season, and we now have two more names to add to the meth-fueled insanity. First up is Scottish actress Laura Fraser. Fraser has appeared on many a BBC series, and American films such as A Knight's Tale, Vanilla Sky, and Titus. Fraser's character is said to be integral to the story of season five, and series creator Vince Gilligan describes her as a "former associate of Gus Fring (Giancarlo Esposito) who’s integral to the proceedings of season 5” and is "nervous about her place in the world.”
Ah, Gus Fring, we hardly knew ye. We all knew that the explosive (literally) death of the hardened crime boss would lead to serious consequences for Walt and Jesse, and it appears that this "former associate" might just be bringing some of that trouble to town with her.
In other casting news, Friday Night Lights' Jesse Plemons has accepted the role of Todd, a seemingly trustworthy young man who has some dealings with our intrepid duo. However, the word seemingly is there for a reason, as Todd is not exactly who he presents himself to be. Intriguing.
To end the Breaking (heh) news for today, here is the first trailer for season five. As with most trailers for upcoming TV seasons, it's comprised of both old and new footage. We do get some good sneak peaks though, including the return of Gus' henchman Mike.
Allow me to take off my reporter hat for a second. Here goes: I am so excited for this! This is going to be awesome! All hail the king! Now I'll go back to reporter mode: Breaking Bad season five premieres Sunday, July 15th at 10pm EST on AMC.
Will season five of Breaking bad be the best yet? Will Walter survive the season?
