If there were any Office fans that still had hope of ever seeing Michael Scott again, those people can prepare to have their bubbles burst.
Steve Carell, the actor behind one of the most lovably awkward TV bosses in history, left the show after season seven to focus on his film career full time. It was while out promoting his latest flick that Carell was asked if he had any plans to make a guest appearance back at Dunder-Mifflin at any point in the forseeable future. Sadly for Michael Scott fans, Carell did not mince words regarding the subject. According to the actor, the possibility hasn't even been discussed:
"Do you really think that people want to see Michael Scott again? I think the people who say they want to see Michael Scott reappear would be ultimately slightly disappointed. I think you always wish for something that you don't sincerely want to come true. And I think in a way it's better to imagine where Michael and Holly are at this point than actually see it."
While it's understandable that Carell wants to close the book on the Michael Scott chapter of his career, I know many Office fans who think the show has suffered without his leadership. While Carell could eventually change his mind, it seems for now that we've all seen the last of the former manager of Dunder-Mifflin's Scranton branch.
Do you wish Carell would reconsider and return to The Office? Or is it better for the show to make a clean break from its former star?

So many of the good actors have or are jumping ship. Pretty soon, we'll only recognize Jim and Pam. I think The Office series needs to end with some dignity before it gets really bad.
