Ann Curry Makes A Tearful Exit From The Today Show
Over the last few days, I've written several articles covering the saga of NBC deciding to turf Ann Curry from The Today Show. The vast majority of comments those stories received were supportive of Ann, and angry at her network bosses. In fact, the overall response to the story online was at least 3/4 negative. Unfortunately, public opinion did little to dissuade the execs at NBC, as this morning marked Curry's last installment of Today. After nearly fifteen years as a co-host and contributor on the series, and one short year in the anchor chair, Ann Curry has bid adieu to the most popular morning show on television. You can view her emotional goodbye to the audience below:
Curry really did get the short end of the stick here. Whether you thought she was a good co-anchor or not, she put a lot of herself into the show, and didn't deserve to get shown the door so quickly and callously. While it's true that she'll remain with NBC News in a different capacity, the video above makes it pretty clear that this is not at all something she wanted to happen.
Will you miss Ann Curry's presence on The Today Show?
I, too, am not really a Today Show fan and I don't watch it often but Ann Curry got shafted. When I did see the show I appreciated her presence both in the past and more recently as a co-host. She gets a pile of cash and will remain at NBC in other capacities... for now. I'm sure she'll have offers from other networks soon enough and I hope she leaves NBC. I'd laugh quite a bit if the ratings for the Today Show drop. It's not like this is the first time NBC screwed someone over who had been with the network for quite some time.

I'm not the biggest fan of The Today Show, but I really liked Ann. She was the only one I could watch on that show.
She's a better person than I because I would not stay there (NBC).
