We're still a little over three months away from the third season premiere of The Walking Dead, but at least we're finally starting to get some glimpses of what the season will look like. First, there was the Comic-con poster for season 3, which gave us a glimpse of new characters Michonne and the Governor. Michonne already made an appearance in the show's second season finale, though her face was hooded and hidden from sight. The Governor, meanwhile, is perhaps the show's ultimate villain, who will be introduced early on in the third season and will quite possibly have a multi-season arc of terror.
Fans salivating for their first glimpse of a moving picture from the new season needed look no further than AMC's Walking Dead preview weekend, which featured a new episode of Talking Dead, the talk show based around the series (the need for which I still don't understand). During that episode of the Talking Dead, a clip from the third season was introduced -- our first glimpse at footage from the season.
The clip featured Michonne (newly cast Danai Gurira) raiding what looks like a convenience store, dispatching three zombie interlopers with a katana. Tonally, the scene isn't too far departed from the town-set scenes of the show's second season. And while it's cool to see Michonne in action, the zombie killings aren't all that special -- the best part of the clip is when Michonne flicks the blood off her blade. You can check out the clip below.
The Walking Dead season 3 will premiere in October.
