Producers of "Spartacus" to Take on Aliens and Dracula Next

starz logo

With Spartacus leaving this next season, producers of the famous show have their eyes set on more of a sci-fi angle as they look at other projects. Steven S. DeKnight and J. Michael Straczyski will done other hats. A new show "Incursion" is being handled by DeKnight while "Vlad Dracula" will be spearheaded by Straczynski. 'Incursion' will follow soldiers in a war against aliens and 'Vlad Dracula' will trace the life of Prince of Wallachia and the tales of the blood thirsty villain. With two new projects it is safe to say that we are going to get our bloodlust fulfilled after Spartacus is gone.

Both series promise that they are going to deliver to the audience what they will be lacking and hopefully will continue their success. Starz, the network who has aired Spartacus, graciously accepted their proposals since they have a show that has done such a great job in bringing in viewers. With a Sci-Fi and a Suspense/Thriller in the mix, it will be interesting to see where the stories are going to go and what cast they are going to have to play in them.

Straczynski will be working closely with Horror Master Roy Lee ('The Ring') to help bring out the evilness of 'Vlad Dragula' and will dive into the 15th century with plenty of thrills. With 'Incursion', DeKnight plans to have each season of the show to be set on a different planet and be able to give audiences more special affects. What do you think of this? Do you think that they will stand a chance?
