Hulu is bringing foul-mouthed British dramedy The Thick of It to Americans uncensored, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The show, created by Armando Iannucci, will be added to the online streaming site on July 29.
The Thick of It is a British political comedy set in a fictional British government department that experiences constant blunderings and media scrutiny. American audiences might know the series for spawning a spin-off film, In the Loop, which featured James Gandolfini, Tom Hollander, and Steve Coogan alongside several main cast members of The Thick of It. The entire film was stolen by a fantastic performance by Peter Capaldi (Skins), who reprised his role as the easily angered, utterly foulmouthed Malcolm Tucker. Capaldi's character is the lead of The Thick of It, meaning that those who tune into the series on Hulu will get to gleefully experience more outrageous outbursts from the man who brought us "F**kity bye!"
The first three series of The Thick of It will be available on July 29, with upcoming fourth series episodes to be added the day each episode airs.
It you're wondering where you've heard creator Armando Iannucci's name before, he's the creator of the new critically acclaimed HBO comedy Veep, which wrapped up its first season last month. Iannucci wrote and directed most of the show's episodes, which bear the same sort of humor as The Thick of It.
The Thick of It isn't the only British show streaming exclusively on Hulu: Tom Hollander's off-kilter comedy Rev. is available on the site, as well as Channel 4's Misfits.
The Thick of It will be available for streaming on Hulu July 29.
