Sons Of Anarchy Welcomes Joel McHale To The SAMCRO Community

Joel McHale

Joel McHale may be heading back to Greendale Community College this fall on NBC, but that doesn't mean he can't pay a visit to Charming, California along the way. The sitcom star, clip show host, touring stand-up comedian, and all around entertainment renaissance man has signed on to do a multiple episode stint on the upcoming fifth season of FX biker drama Sons Of Anarchy.

McHale will portray Warren, a handsome con man that confidently strolls into town and ends up crossing the SAMCRO motorcycle gang. Not much else is known about McHale's story arc, although it's been confirmed that he will share more than one scene with Katey Sagal's Gemma Teller Morrow.

McHale joins previously announced season five guest stars Ashley Tisdale and Jimmy Smits, in what has been a string of unconventional casting choices by producers. Only time will tell whether these moves will work out for SOA or not, although I doubt many people anticipated Adam Arkin adapting as well he did to playing a ruthless white separatist leader on season two of Sons either.

Sons Of Anarchy will return for a fifth season of thirteen episodes on Tuesday, September 11th at 10pm EST on FX. Be there, or risk the wrath of SAMCRO.

I'll leave you with this behind-the-scenes shot tweeted by Katey Sagal:

Do you think Joel McHale will be a good addition to Sons Of Anarchy?

Yeah, he'll be a good addition to that show.  "Sons" sucks ass, so he can only help it.  It'll be interesting to see him in something dramatic for a change.
