Parks and Recreation: Ms. Knope Goes to Washington in New Promotional Photos

Parks and Recreation will be returning for its fifth season on September 20, and it looks like it's going to be an exciting one for the people of Pawnee. Well, at least for the people who work in Leslie Knope's department.

Promotional photos for the second episode of the season, "Ms. Knope Goes to Washington," depict, as the title suggests, Leslie (Amy Poehler) heading off to Washington, D.C. on an unspecified mission. Tagging along with her is Andy (Chris Pratt), who is probably her best choice of companion for the trip for purely comedic reasons: his blissful ignorance will undoubtedly provide for some golden moments.

Photos depict Leslie and Andy standing outside the Capitol building, with Leslie standing in reverence and Andy in goofy glee. Another photo sees Leslie meeting with senator and former presidential candidate John McCain, who appears to be having just as good of a time as Leslie. Regardless of whether you like his politics, McCain has shown that he has a great sense of humor from his appearances on Saturday Night Live, so here's hoping some more television magic happens in this episode. And who knows? Maybe Leslie will meet some other important governmental figures (we can hope, can't we?).

Apparently it's only a one-episode visit, though, because the final promotional photo from the episode sees Leslie reuniting with Ben (Adam Scott), and Andy with April (Aubrey Plaza). It looks like we're headed for a Very Special episode indeed, and I can't wait to see it.

"Ms. Knope Goes to Washington," the second episode in season 5, airs September 27 on NBC. The season will premiere on September 20. Check out the rest of the promo photos below.
