Filming is gearing up for American Horror Story's chill-ridden second season, and already behind-the-scenes photos are being released. These, however, aren't from stealthy shutterbugs who sneak onto the set, as they usually are -- these are from creator Ryan Murphy himself.
The AHS creator tweeted a photo from the set of the show's second season on Monday. The photo features singer Adam Levine, one of the second season's many new faces. Levine appears to be hanging out on the show's sanitarium set, shining his flashlight onto a mysterious piece of graffiti that is plainly labeled "Bloody Face." The simplistic face looks a little Frankenstein's monster-esque, with what appear to be stitches covering its face. Is this simple, meaningless set decoration, or is this an indicator of a villain/monster that's terrorizing this asylum? We'll probably have to wait until October to find out.
What we do know for a fact is that Levine will be playing half of a couple known as "the Lovers," along with newly cast Jenna Dewan. Whether the two are inmates of the asylum or something else completely different remains to be seen.
The second season of American Horror Story will be set in a 1960s-era insane asylum on the east coast, and features an intimidating list of cast members, including Chloe Sevigny, James Cromwell, Jessica Lange, Joseph Fiennes, Britne Oldford, Chris Zylka, Clea DuVall, Mark Consuelos, Franka Potente, and Lizze Brocheré.
Intimidated by the massive cast? We're intimidated by just about everything we've found out about the new season of the series.
American Horror Story season 2 will premiere on FX in October.
