Jersey Shore is set to end its six-year run on MTV this fall, so it’s only appropriate for each cast member to snag their spin-off now before the public loses complete interest in the Jersey gang.
The Pauly D Project was the first side project to air in the spring, with an average of 2.9 million viewers tuning in each week. This show followed Pauly D from his transition as a Jersey Shore housemate to one of the highest paid DJs in the United States. Considering The fifth season of Jersey Shore pulls in 7.6 million viewers on average, MTV execs were pleased with the outcome. Shortly after MTV revealed plans to debut Snooki & JWoww, another spin-off of the popular reality show. Much like The Pauly D Project, Snooki & JWoww followed the ladies as they continued living off the fame of Jersey Shore.
Though ratings were lower than The Paul D Project, MTV announced that Snooki & JWoww will return for a second season. It is likely that season two will in turn follow Snooki as she becomes a mother for the first time. Snooki is expected to give birth to her first son in the next four weeks. She is also engaged, so the story may follow as she transitions into a mother while planning a wedding.
Not only can fans expect a return of Snooki & JWoww, but MTV also announced the premiere date for Jersey Shore’s second season. The gang will reunite one last time to live under the same roof starting October 4 at 10 p.m. This season there is plenty of drama to experience while watching each cast mate grow into their own place on the Hollywood B-list. With Jersey Shore coming to an end, one can only wonder if shows like Snooki & JWoww will survive without the tail fins of Jersey Shore to live off of?
