NBC procedural “Law & Order: SVU” has signed Roger Bart, Anna Chlumsky and Raul Esparza to appear on an upcoming episode.
According to TVGuide.com, the episode will be entitled “Twenty-Five Acts.” Former child star Chlumsky, most recently seen on “Veep,” will play the author of a “50 Shades of Grey”-type erotic novel who accuses Bart’s talk show host character of rape. The SVU crew then discovers that her account of the rape is suspiciously like chapters in her book. Esparza’s character from the District Attorney’s office and the squad try to prevent a media frenzy.
It was also recently announced that Adam Baldwin will play the squad’s new captain on the new season, which premieres Wednesday, Sept. 26, at 9/8c. Baldwin replaces Capt. Donald Cragen, who was played by Dann Florek.
Bart has appeared in “Desperate Housewives” and “Revenge,” and is currently featured on “Political Animals” on USA. Chlumsky recently reappeared on HBO’s “Veep” after gaining fame in “My Girl.” Esparza has had guest-starring roles in “Law & Order” and “Law & Order: Criminal Intent.” He most recently starred on Broadway in “Leap of Faith,” which was co-written by SVU showrunner Warren Leight.
