Sons of Anarchy Season 5: Get First Glimpse of Joel McHale

Most television viewers know Joel McHale either as the smart-mouthed host of E!'s The Soup, or as the smart-mouthed college student Jeff Winger on NBC's Community. Now, however, television watchers will get to see McHale in another role: this time, it's on Sons of Anarchy.

McHale doesn't necessarily seem like a fit for the FX biker drama, but he looks right at home in this new picture released by The Hollywood Reporter. Of course, by "right at home," we mean being threatened by several bikers:

McHale is reported to be playing Warren, "a con man who double-crosses the wrong person." That wrong person certainly looks like it's one of the Sons of Anarchy, given their body language and his. Jax (Charlie Hunnam) looks like he has a few questions for Warren, and isn't afraid to beat the answers out of him.

New actors also confirmed for the show's upcoming fifth season include Harold Perrineau (LOST), Ashley Tisdale (High School Musical), and Jimmy Smits (Dexter). Perrineau will play a gangster whose daughter was accidentally killed in the season 4 finale, while Tisdale will portray a high-priced escort who spends some time with Jax. Smits will play a gangster who serves as a mentor to several members of Sons of Anarchy.

Are you excited to see Joel McHale on Sons of Anarchy? We are, too.

Sons of Anarchy season 5 is slated to premiere September 11 on FX.

Community will return for its fourth season October 19 on NBC.
