Eager to receive feedback and generate some buzz for its new two-hour comedy block on Tuesday nights, FOX has announced that advance screenings of new comedies The Mindy Project and Ben and Kate will take place in ten major cities across the United States on August 26. Following the screening of the two pilots, there will be a question-and-answer session held at the Los Angeles location and broadcast live online and to the other screening rooms nationwide. Questions can be submitted online through the official Facebook pages of the shows or on Twitter using the hashtag #FOXTuesdays.
Appearing on the panel will be cast members from Ben and Kate and Mindy, as well as cast members of Raising Hope and New Girl, FOX's returning comedies that will be paired with the two freshman programs. Before you get too excited, Zooey Deschanel will not be one of the participants on the panel. The nationwide screenings will be held in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, New York, Philadelphia, San Francisco, and Washington, DC.
Originally titled It's Messy, The Mindy Project stars Mindy Kaling (Kelly Kapoor on NBC's The Office) as a young OB/GYN with a hectic personal life and quirky co-workers; Bill Hader and Ed Helms will also have recurring roles, although they are not part of the regular cast. Ben and Kate is about two siblings who are complete opposites and end up moving in together so that Ben can help his younger sister Kate look after her daughter.
Sounds like a couple of totally wacky, irreverent shows to me! Will you be checking out FOX's Tuesday night comedy block this fall?
