Dexter's seventh season is fast approaching, and we're getting closer and closer to seeing how Deb will react upon finding out that her adopted brother (and potential love interest) Dexter (Michael C. Hall) is a murderer. After all, the final moments of the season 6 finale, "This Is the Way the World Ends," saw Deb walking in on Dex finishing off the season's big bad guy, Travis (Colin Hanks). Her immediate reaction, naturally, was one of shock, but what comes next? As the season 7 key art states, "He saw. She saw. It's all on the table."
But for those of you worried that Deb would harbor some serious resentment toward Dexter for finding out his secret hobby, worry no more. While some promotional pictures from the season 7 premiere, "Are You...?" saw Deb holding a gun, she appears to get over that pretty quickly, according to the recently released synopsis for the premiere.
Here's the synopsis, courtesy of Showtime: "After witnessing her brother kill Travis Marshall, Debra (Jennifer Carpenter) attempts to reconcile with Dexter (Michael C. Hall) while struggling to cover up their involvement with the murder. Meanwhile, Detective Mike Anderson has an unfortunate run-in, Quinn and Batista begin to make amends, and LaGuerta finds evidence that causes her to re-think the closed Bay Harbor Butcher case."
Sounds like Dexter is able to talk his way out of any major hot water with Debra, though the question remains whether or not she'll end up being a liability to him. As for whether the feelings she discovered she had for him, well, it'll be interesting to see how those are expressed -- if they're still there.
As for the re-opening of the Bay Harbor Butcher case -- for those who've forgotten, that's the name used to describe the perpetrator of Dexter's murders by the police -- well, that can't really bode well for Dexter, can it?
"Are You...? will premiere September 30 on Showtime.
