On Friends Rachel Greene (Jennifer Aniston) searched for love throughout ten years, even if her "one" was standing right in front of her the entire time. She left her first fiancee at the alter during the first episode of the NBC comedy, leaving behind a lavish life with a doctor. Though she was finding a way to deal with her newfound independence, Rachel balanced a job at the coffee shop (and eventually Ralph Lauren) with a string of boyfriends. Remember young, carefree Tad or creepy Paolo who hit on Phoebe? Her most infamous relationship was with best friend Ross who even fathered her only child, Emma.
Rachel's life wasn't far from Jennifer Aniston's real life as she has gone through a handful of very public relationships. On her rise to the top Aniston was seen on the arm of Counting Crowes front man Adam Duritz, but eventually found her way to actor Brad Pitt. The couple married in 2000, but divorced in 2005 after Pitt fell in love with Angeline Jolie on the set of Mr. and Mrs. Smith.
Since her divorce she's often seen as one who is "unlucky in love," testing the waters with musician John Mayer, model Paul Sculfor and actor Vince Vaughn. However, it was Justin Theroux who won her heart over last year when the pair met on the set of the comedy Wanderlust. For the last year the couple dated, and announced that Aniston accepted Theroux's proposal on Friday.
"Justin Theroux had an amazing birthday on Friday, receiving an extraordinary gift when his girlfriend, Jennifer Aniston, accepted his proposal of marriage," his rep told People. The couple has been near inseparable since their love developed, being snapped around the world together, so the news does not come as too much of a surprise.
Congrats to the former Friends star and her director/actor fiancee!
