CBS continues to attempt to revitalize Two and a Half Men after Charlie Sheen's departure last year. Though season 9, which introduced new star Ashton Kutcher, started off with a significant ratings spike but managed to end on a low note, with the twentieth episode drawing 10.40 million viewers, the show's lowest ever.
So how do you revitalize a dying sitcom for its tenth season? Bring in Miley Cyrus, of course. The pop star has nabbed a recurring role on 'Men,' according to E!Online. Cyrus will appear as a new girl who comes to town and finds herself subject to the attractions of Jake Harper (Angus T. Jones), the dull-witted "half man" from the show's title (he's a kid). It's reported that Cyrus's character will be "sexy" and "rife with comedy."
Forgive us if we can't get excited.
Cyrus previously starred in the Disney Channel series Hannah Montana, which launched a successful pop music career. Hannah Montana ended in January 2011, with Cyrus hosting Saturday Night Live later that year.
On Sunday night, Cyrus posted a picture to Twitter showing her drastic new haircut, featuring a cut-off, bleached-blonde look and I would describe as a punk-rock Carey Mulligan. it's unknown whether this hairdo is for her Two and a Half Men character or whether it'll just have to be incorporated into the series.
Two and a Half Men returns for its tenth season September 27 on CBS.
