After plenty of behind-the-scenes drama, filming has finally started on the fourth season of NBC's comedy series Community. Cameras started rolling on Monday, and while we don't know what season 4 will hold, the stars of the series seem fairly excited about it all.
Alison Brie, who plays Annie Edison on the series, posted a photo of herself and co-star Donald Glover (a.k.a. Childish Gambino) on Twitter, writing "Bacon action!! (back in action) #YouDontKnowTroy," a reference to Glover's character, Troy Barnes.
Meanwhile, Brie's costar Gillian Jacobs Britta'd Twitter by posting a photo of the Paramount Pictures studio gate. "First day of school," she wrote.
While everyone's happy that Community managed to nab its fourth season, there's a healthy amount of apprehension toward the new season, which will be the first without creator and showrunner Dan Harmon, who was ousted from the show this summer. Writers David Guarascio and Moses Port came in to replace Harmon, and while the cast have expressed support for Harmon, they've also expressed optimism in the abilities of the new showrunners.
Here's hoping the updates from the set keep coming. The more skeptical fans of the show are no doubt looking for some reassurance of the show's continued quality. What do you think? Will Community season 4 live up to its predecessors, or have the cast just started filming a disappointment?
Community's fourth season will have thirteen episodes, and is slated to premiere Friday, October 19 at 8:30pm on NBC.
