If you're one of the people who watched Ryan Lochte in the Olympics and thought, 'Man, he would be a great actor,' then this is the news for you. It was announced on Tuesday that 11-time medalist Lochte will be guest starring this fall in an episode of the CW's teen drama '90210.'
Lochte will appear in the October 29 episode of the series in a cameo appearance as himself, who is staying at the same resort as Naomi (AnnaLynne McCord) and Max (Josh Zuckerman), who are trying to revitalize their relationship.
A joint statement by 90210 execs Patti Carr and Lara Olsen was just brimming iwth enthusiasm for Lochte's appearance: "When we found out Ryan Lochte was going to be in town and might appear on 90210, we felt like we'd won a gold medal! Team USA are all-stars in our book, and we're so excited he's making an appearance on the show. We only wish the episode was a surf event so we could have gotten him in the water, but he deserves a little rest on dry land," they said.
While Lochte plans to compete in the 2016 summer Olympics, he's also keeping his eyes on building his celebrity status. He's hinted at appearances on Dancing with the Stars and The Bachelor in recent interviews.
If you're reading this and wondering, 'Well, can Lochte really act?' the answer is no. Don't believe me? Watch this video for all the evidence you need.
What do you think? Should Lochte be focusing so much on his celebrity persona, or should he be getting back in the pool and training for the 2016 Olympics?
90210 season 5 premieres October 8 on the CW.
