TruTv has ordered nine episoes of Hardcore Pawn: Chicago, a spinoff from the original Hardcore Pawn, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
The show will be set at Royal Pawn Shop, one of the city's oldest and largest pawn establishment, specializing in gold-buying. The new show will be a half-hour long and will bow with its parent show later this year.
The original Hardcore Pawn averages 2.5 million viewers in its sixth season. It is one of TruTv's most popular programs.
Royal Pawn is owned by the Cohen brothers, Randy and Wayne. The brothers are known to argue, but are willing to cut deals with almost anyone, "from a sweet kindergarten teacher to an intimidating mob boss."
"If you've ever spent any time in a pawnshop, you've probably seen some of the outrageous characters who come through the doors…or work behind the counter," said Marc Juris, truTV's EVP and chief operating officer. "Hardcore Pawn: Chicago takes things to a whole new level, thanks to Randy and Wayne's over-the-top personalities and the wild antics of some of their customers."
The show is produced by Bischoff-Hervey Entertainment, which is Wonder Years "star" Jason Jervey and Eric Bischoff, who is best known for ruining the multi-million dollar World Championship Wrestling franchise.
