Life is good when you are Ron Swanson. Sweet mustache, easy job, lots of time to do wood working. Now, add Lucy Lawless to the equation.
Lawless is coming to Pawnee, agreeing to a multi-show arc on NBC's Parks and Recreation, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Lawless hasn't appeared since her character left Spartacus.
The former Xena: Warrior Princess will play a single mom who turns to the Parks Department for help. When Ron (Nick Offerman) and Andy (Chris Pratt) help, sparks fly between her and the mustached lady-killer.
As of now, Lawless is scheduled to appear in two episodes. She reported the news via Twitter, saying:
"I am so thrilled to work with the #ParksandRecreation crew. I am always amazed by the Acting and writing. It's kooky, ironic and elegant."
Unfortunately, she will not be marrying Swanson, as her character is named Diane. Swanson only marries women named Tammy. But this is still fantastic news, as Swanson is the show's breakout star and deserves as much screen time as possible. Here's hoping that Lawless sticks around a bit longer than two shows.
Lawless' first episode is scheduled to air Oct. 4.
The show returns for its fifth season at 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 20.
