Tonight saw the launch of the tenth series of Celebrity Big Brother. After proving such a success in the ratings earlier this year, Channel 5 opted to cut the civilian Big Brother 3 weeks short to air an additional series of the Celebrity series.
The rumour mill as always was rife with names who could be entering and stories were hitting the front pages of the newspapers over who was going in and who wasn't. So which rumours were true?
Both camp comedian, Julian Clary and Coronation Street veteran Julie Goodyear have been frequently rumoured when the show use to air on Channel 4 and since its move to Channel 5. Both of which make up part of this years 13-strong cast.
In recent days before the show hit our screens, the newspapers may as well of revealed every housemate who was entering the house since story's about tonights arrivals had appeared. With sex-texting glamour model Rhian Sugden, controversial journalist Samantha Brick, Simon Cowell's ex girlfriend Jasmine Lennard, star of Channel 4's phone sex documentary Danica Thrall and ex-EastEnder Martin Kemp entering the house.
Other rumoured celebrities, ex-EastEnders actress Cheryl Ferguson and former Loose Women presenter Coleen Nolan both entered the house.
As for surprise entrants well they came mainly from the boys as the third housemate to enter was star of hit American reality show Jersey Shore, Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino. Another American reality TV star Prince Lorenzo Borghese also entered the show after his appearance on The Bachelor in 2006. (Something tells me this was a last minute replacement for Dog The Bounty Hunter who's VISA to gain access to the UK was reportedly denied) The final two male housemates were European Judo champion Ashley McKenzie, fresh from competing in the 2012 Olympic games and finally So Solid Crew member Harvey.
The launch night show had a twist which saw soap stars Cheryl Ferguson and Julie Goodyear make a drama as the other housemates entered. With earpieces fitted and under Big Brother's instructions - Cheryl told The Situation and Harvey that Julie had slept with one of her ex-boyfriends whilst she was with him and that she was struggling to be in the house with her. Once all other 11 housemates were in, Big Brother instructed the pair to enter into a blazing row, culminating with Julie throwing a drink over Cheryl. After the launch show we went live to the house and found out that the pair managed to pass the task.
With all the excitement of launch night over are you happy with who's entered? Are you happy with the launch night twist?
