Stephen Colbert is no stranger to stunts. The comedian has done a lot of various things to attract attention. From starting SuperPacs to editing Wikipedia pages of Conservative politicians to getting his head shaved in Iraq by Gen. Raymond Odierno, nothing is off limits with Colbert. But tonight, Colbert takes it to a new frontier on The Colbert Report on Comedy Central, according to Entertainment Weekly.
The final frontier, in fact.
Colbert will interview Flaming Lips frontman Wayne Coyne from a space capsule at Manhattan's Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum. How romantic and quaint.
In the picture above, you can see the two during the pre-taped interview. I'm sure there will be an interesting reason given for the location, but it seems like being zany just to be zany. As fans, we expect this kind of thing from Colbert. As long as he keeps the hilarity coming, it doesn't really matter where he conducts his hard-hitting interviews from.
In addition to the interview, the Flaming Lips will be performing "Ashes in the Air," during the broadcast, which airs tonight at 11:30 p.m. EST, and concludes Colbert's musically-themed week, which he named "Pepsi Presents StePhest Colbchella '012: Rocktaugustfest." Other guests included fun., Santigold and Grizzly Bear.
