Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte has his eyes set on being more than just a swimmer. The 28-year-old, fresh out of the London Olympics, has embarked on a bit of a mission to build his name as a brand. So far, that's included appearing in a Funny or Die video alongside Patrick Stewart, Simon Pegg, and Maisie Williams, as well as nabbing a guest role as himself in the upcoming fifth season of the CW's soap '90210.'
Clearly, Lochte has dreams of being a household sports personality like Tiger Woods or even like fellow American Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps. To do so, he's even considering another publicity stunt: he wants to be The Bachelor.
Well, at least, as he told Jay Leno, "If they asked me to do 'The Bachelor,' definitely I'd consider it." Speaking on The Tonight Show, Lochte certainly seemed game for a little bit of reality television. "But I would talk with my family first. That's something I'd have to do."
And if the Bachelor doesn't work out -- or maybe even if it does -- Dancing with the Stars is also an option. "The 'Dancing With the Stars' -- I did, in college, I took a dancing class. I got a A. So I think I'd be pretty good at it," he said.
Actress Kristen Bell, who was also one of the guests on The Tonight Show, made a jape about the amount of practice required for Dancing with the Stars that Lochte didn't seem to catch.
What do you think? Should Lochte do the Bachelor or Dancing with the stars? Or both? Or should he just go and train for the 2016 Olympics like the rest of the athletes?
