Scandal, ABC's political thriller staring Kerry Washington, is preparing for its second season by adding some new guest stars and cast members. In the series, Washington's character Olivia Pope works at a crisis management firm that works closely with the White House.
New cast members/guest stars include (many of the descriptions are vague), per the Huffington Post:
Other rumored guest stars include Allison Janney and Olympic runner Allyson Felix, who is a huge fan of the show and recently visited the set.
I've never watched the show or heard of most of those people, besides Janney and Felix. It sounds like an interesting enough concept, but I never took the leap. It didn't help that critics seemed to think it was solid, yet unspectacular. Well regarded TV reviewer Alan Sepinwall said of the show that, after watching four episodes, "I'm not 100 percent clear on what it is that Olivia and her team (most of them fellow lawyers who don't practice law) do, nor on exactly what the show is. I'm also not entirely sure that it matters. 'Scandal' is a good example of what a show is about being far less important than how it's about it."
The first season stayed consistent, with about 7.5 million viewers throughout.
The new season begins Sept. 27 at 10:00 p.m.
Will you be watching? Should I give it a shot?
