Apparently a fourth American Pie movie was just what Chris Klein needed to get his career moving again.
Already playing a recurring role on FX's Wilfred, Klein has now landed a guest staring turn on Fox's Raising Hope, reports the Hollywood...uhh...Reporter.
Klein is scheduled to play Brad, a local celebrity realtor whom is revealed to Jimmy (Lucas Neff) as his "almost" long-lost older brother, by Burt (Garrett Dillahunt) and Virginia (Martha Plimpton). I'm not sure what that means, but it sounds funny.
Klein's role is scheduled for only one show. Additionally, Tippi Hedren, Melanie Griffith, Wilmer Valderrama and Jenny Slate have signed on to guest star in the show's third season.
Good for Klein. He's by no stretch of the imagination of terrific actor, but he is serviceable enough, at least in small parts. And he is a recognizable enough face that people will get a kick out of seeing him. It's a surprise that the American Pie franchise hasn't produced more stars. Besides Alyson Hannigan, John Cho and Seann William Scott, I'd argue that the film has killed more careers than it helped (Eugene Levy was already working consistently when he was cast). Maybe Klein's career still has a chance.
