One of the most popular shows of the 2011-2012 television season was undoubtedly CBS's Person of Interest, which mixed genre television with procedural elements so well that it didn't lose viewers -- it gained them.
So with the second season coming down the pike, I'm guessing that there are about 13 million of you who want to know what's next for Reese (Jim Caviezel) and Finch (Michael Emerson). After all, the season did end with Finch being kidnaped at the hands of his hacker archnemesis Root (Amy Acker). So what's next? Will Reese find Finch? The press release for the season 2 premiere, "The Contingency," sheds a little light on the matter:
With Finch missing – kidnapped by his hacker nemesis, Root, in last season’s finale cliffhanger – Reese enlists Detectives Carter and Fusco to get his friend back, on the second season premiere of PERSON OF INTEREST, Thursday, Sept. 27 (9:00 – 10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Meanwhile, The Machine never sleeps, disseminating a new number to Reese. Ken Leung (“Lost”) guest stars as the latest POI, and Amy Acker (“Dollhouse,” “Angel”) reprises her role as Root.
Sounds like the premiere episode is going to be pretty packed -- Reese has to solve another case while simultaneously hunting for Finch? That's crazy.
Here's hoping, though, that Ken Leung's POI is somehow related to Root's kidnaping of Finch. Not only would that make the story much easier to resolve, but it would also mean we'd get to see a reunion between Emerson and Leung, who shared some really awesome scenes together when they starred on ABC's LOST (the best of them involved bribery to the tune of $3.2 million).
Person of Interest season 2 will premiere with "The Contingency" Thursday, September 27 at 9/8c on CBS.
Will you be tuning in?
