A familiar face will be appearing on CSI: NY next season. Actor Neal McDonough, who most recently recurred in the third season of FX's Justified, will be making a guest appearance on the CBS procedural this fall as part of its upcoming ninth season.
According to TVLine, who broke the news, McDonough will be playing Senator Gordon Hamilton in the fourth episode of the Gary Sinise-starring series. The episode will feature a shootout that breaks out at one of Hamilton's campaign rallies, injuring both Hamilton and CSI Lindsay (Anna Belknap).
McDonough is an accomplished character actor, and earlier this year portrayed Robert Quarles, a psychotic gangster who invaded Harlan County in the third season of FX's Justified. Following the events of the third season finale, "Slaughterhouse," it's unclear whether or not McDonough will be returning to the series in any capacity for the show's fourth season.
The actor also recently filmed the new TNT drama pilot L.A. Noir alongside Jon Bernthal and Milo Ventimiglia; McDonough will star in the series as LAPD Chief William Parker, who will fight against crime boss Mickey Cohen. L.A. Noir is helmed by former Walking Dead showrunner Frank Darabont.
CSI: NY will return for its ninth eason on Friday, September 28 at 8/7c. McDonough's episode will air October 19.
